How technology & innovation tackle major challenges
Flanders has more than a lot to offer in terms of technology and innovation.
During the FTI Festival (15-24 March), FTI wants to bring together everyone (knowledge centers, private partners, government and citizens) and show how we can use technology and innovation to tackle the major challenges of the future and strive for sustainable prosperity for all.
For 10 days, 6 Flemish cities will be transformed into 1 big inspiration and experience festival. VITO, and VITO Remote Sensing, cannot be missing, on the contrary.
VITO contributes to various events related to Energy, Health, Mobility, Nutrition, Education, Digital Life, Data Privacy and Entertainment at various locations.

‘Drones & AI for the food industry’
Drones and artificial intelligence have great potential for agriculture. Drones quickly and accurately scan large plots, assess harvest quality and crop homogeneity. AI algorithms analyze data to understand ripeness, growth patterns, diseases and pests.
We'll share success stories and challenges to show the future of agricultural technology and food security.

Smart technologies for a sustainable agriculture
'Technology for green pears with finalist ‘De Klimaatkoploper’'
Together with a number of partner organisations, we will tell you which innovative technologies and actions are making our Flemish fruit cultivation and agriculture more sustainable.
During a short tour, you can take a look at the fully automated sorting centre and the auction at BelOrta. In addition, experts are ready to present their innovations.
