Anne Gobin
R&D Project Manager
Anne Gobin is a Professor of Soil, Land, and Water Management at KU Leuven. Anne joined VITO in 2008 where she manages national and international projects on soil, water, and the environment, dedicating 50% of her time to VITO's mission. Anne has extensive expertise in agri-environmental modelling, climate impacts on the soil-crop-atmosphere continuum, farming systems, and land use dynamics. Anne's experience is further enriched by her work abroad in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Kenya, Ecuador, Nigeria, Denmark and the Netherlands.
Our goal is to balance increased production with environmental concerns and climate resilience.
At VITO Remote Sensing, Anne is responsible for the smart farming portfolio. She combines time series of medium to high resolution satellite data and weather information into crop models to estimate yields and soil-water-carbon interactions. More detail on her projects can be found here.
