Anne Gobin is an agricultural engineer and obtained a Ph.D. in land and water management from KU Leuven. Anne has extensive expertise in agri-environmental modelling, climate impacts on the soil-crop-atmosphere continuum, farming systems and land use dynamics. Before joining VITO in 2008, Anne managed national and international projects related to soil, water and environment – initially at the university, later with various SMEs. Anne worked abroad for several years in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nigeria, Denmark and The Netherlands.
Our goal is to balance increased production with environmental concerns and climate resilience
At VITO Remote Sensing, Anne is responsible for the smart farming portfolio. She combines time series of medium to high resolution satellite data and weather information into crop models to estimate yields and soil-water-carbon interactions. More detail on her projects can be found here.
