Els Knaeps
Lead Marine Applications
Els Knaeps obtained a Master’s degree in Geography and a Master’s degree in GIS and Remote Sensing. She has 15 years of experience in Remote Sensing Image processing for water quality and coastal management. Her research has mainly focused on suspended sediment and turbidity retrieval in turbid coastal waters and marine debris detection and characterization. It has led to her collaborations with universities, research institutes, industries and international organisations.
Remote sensing lets us see how beautiful and astonishing our planet really is.
She is a member of several international workgroups in the field of inland and coastal water quality and has coordinated several research and commercial projects. At present, Els leads a team of researchers working on water and coastal applications.
