Wanda De Keersmaecker

Wanda obtained her MSc and PhD degree of bioscience engineering at KULeuven in 2011 and 2015, respectively. She continued her carreer as a post-doctoral researcher at KULeuven and Wageningen University. During her PhD and post-doc, she studied the capacity of ecosystems to withstand and recover from disturbances over various ecosystems using time series of satellite imagery.

Wanda joined the VITO Remote Sensing team in 2021, where she is using remote sensing technologies for land cover and vegetation mapping and monitoring at regional to continental scales. She is working on various projects related to amongst others land cover mapping, biodiversity and forest monitoring.
