Ils Reusen
Project Manager
Ils Reusen received a MSc in Physics (Astronomy) and a PhD in Physics (Nuclear spectroscopy) from KU Leuven before beginning her postdoctorate research in image processing at the Electrical Engineering department of KU Leuven.
COPERNICUS and (hyperspectral) remote sensing for our planet
Ils began working at VITO Remote Sensing in 2000, first as a researcher, then as a project manager and coordinator. Her focus was initially on airborne hyperspectral remote sensing, APEX and EUFAR but is now also oriented towards the use of drones, Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 satellites for monitoring our water resources (FP7 INFORM, H2020 DCS4COP, Copernicus Global Land Service, H2020 Monocle, H2020 Water-ForCE, Horizon Europe AQUARIUS).
Ils is a member of GEO Aquawatch, Space4Water, UNEP World Water Quality Alliance Earth Observation Workstream and the International Water Association Earth Observation for Water Management Community of Practice. She is the VITO Remote Sensing contact point for the Copernicus Academy and Relays networks.
