ESA APEx presents services to streamline EO innovation to operation

The ESA Application Propagation Environments (APEx) initiative presents an initial collection of services designed to enhance the reusability, scalability, and accessibility of Earth Observation (EO) project results. By bridging the gap between research and operations, APEx empowers scientists and developers to transform their algorithms, workflows, and applications into FAIR-compliant, cloud-based EO services.

  • Algorithm Services: Tailored support to preserve, enhance, and transform EO project outcomes into scalable cloud services
  • Project Environments: Modular, configurable, and adaptable to meet your project’s needs
  • Data Catalogue: Easy access to multiple EO datasets and product repositories, including ESA's long-term project result repository
  • Algorithm Catalogue: A collection of FAIR-compliant EO applications and algorithms, ready to integrate into operational workflows

The APEx services are provided by VITO Remote Sensing, Terradue, Brockmann Consult, Sparkgeo, and Inuits, under the guidance of ESA. The ESA APEx project is officially launched in April 2024 and will run until April 2026, with a three-year extension phase planned.
