Davy Wolfs

Senior Software Engineer

Davy is a senior software engineer focusing on the Copernicus Global Land Service. He attained his Master degree in Electrical Engineering by implementing an image acquisition and  processing platform for experimental image sensors. He started his career as an hardware engineer, contributing to a variety of projects including SIL2 compliant dust explosion suppression systems, pre-processing platform for digital video broadcasting ground stations and the electronics for the Fluid Science Laboratory in the Columbus module of the International Space Station. His career path took a turn towards software engineering with image processing for semiconductor inspection systems, both and component as wafer level.

We are building the bridge between satellite data and researchers’ algorithms, producing images to keep an eye on our world.

Davy joined VITO Remote Sensing in 2013 and has been working on the Copernicus Global Land Service and its predecessors. He is a member of the software team that ensures the evolution and operation of Copernicus Global Land Service, Copernicus Climate Change Service and Land Surface Analysis SAF.
