Mathilde De Vroey
R&D Professional
Mathilde earned her MSc degree in bioscience engineering from UCLouvain, where she developed a fascination with Earth observation. She continued at UCLouvain to complete a PhD in agronomy, focusing on using optical and radar remote sensing to measure grassland use intensity for agroecological monitoring. This experience equipped her with a solid background in earth observation and environmental science, while also deepening her commitment to sustainable land use.
Let’s use the power of Earth observation to work towards greater sustainability!
In 2024, Mathilde joined VITO as a remote sensing scientist. At VITO, she contributes to various projects related to natural capital accounting and land cover and vegetation mapping on regional, continental, and global scales.
