Nicolas Lewyckyj has a track record of more than 25 years of research experience. After a master degree in Nuclear Physics and a master degree in Radiation Protection he worked for almost 8 years  at SCK.CEN were he obtained a PhD Degree in Biology. During that period he also worked on a voluntary basis at the fire brigade of SCK.CEN for almost 5 years.

In 1999 he joined the VITO team, working for 3 years on atmospheric modelling. Afterwards he took on responsibility for the hyperspectral lab at VITO-TAP. In 2006 he started to work with UAV for environmental applications. The last years he has been focusing on Remote Sensing for Security, including disaster management and law enforcement. As a project manager for the UAV section he also supports business development of the Security track.
