About Copernicus

Copernicus is the European Union's flagship Earth observation initiative, designed to provide valuable information services to citizens and organizations across the EU. It utilizes a combination of satellite Earth observation and in-situ (non-space) data to monitor and understand our planet and its environment.

The data produced by Copernicus is of such high quality and relevance that it was transformative for the Earth Observation industry, and its free and open data policy is the cornerstone of the program.

The goal of the Copernicus program is to make Earth observation-based solutions accessible to all, and to leverage the power of this data to drive positive change and preserve our planet.
